about

This might be something of a concept album, I believe. It tells the story of my childhood, where my father was a raging alcoholic and beat me almost on a daily basis. So you might wanna say this is an open letter. He won't ever read (or rather hear) it, but I made this in an attempt to cope with my trauma. The person those tracks tell you about commited suicide at the end. I didn't, obviously, but I was just short of it.

The tracks were originally named in the order I finished them. So "One" was finished first, "Two" came after that and so on. Instruments and gear used were as follows:

- Korg Volca Keys
- Korg Monotron Delay
- Arturia MicroBrute
- Ibanez Gio Electric Guitar
- Donner 7mode pedal
- Marshall Guv'nor pedal
- Blackstar LT-Echo 10 amp
- Noise Machine android app
- PixelWave android app
- mendelToneFree android app

Here's for the obvious sample credits:

"Six" contains a sample of Robert Schumann's piece "Scenes from a childhood".

"Eight" features voice recordings of FFF protesters, recorded by freetousesounds. (freetousesounds.bandcamp.com/album/protest-sound-effects-climate-change-lisbon-portugal-2)

"Three" contains field records from somewhere at seaside. I just for the fuq of it can't remember where I found them.
